Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or heat-safe spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Ladle or heatproof pouring jug
  • Mugs or heatproof serving bowls

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole dairy milk
  • 1 ⅓ cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • ½ cup half-and-half

Instructions

  • Melt Chocolate: Combine the milk and white chocolate chips in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture reaches a gentle simmer. Do not boil.
  • Add Flavor: Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the peppermint extract and half-and-half until well combined.
  • Serve: Pour into mugs or heatproof bowls.
  • Optional Toppings: Top with whipped cream, crushed candy canes, white chocolate shavings, or mini marshmallows for an extra festive touch.

Notes

  • For a richer version, replace 1 cup of milk with more half-and-half.
  • Adjust the peppermint extract to taste—start with ½ tsp if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • This recipe can be made ahead and reheated gently on the stovetop.
