Ingredients

2 cups whole milk

½ tsp. Vanilla extract

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ packet hot cocoa mix

¼ tsp. ground cinnamon

¾ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Preparation

  1. Pour milk and vanilla extract into a saucepan and mix well. Then add cinnamon, sugar, and hot cocoa mix, and whisk until everything combines well.
  2. Add chocolate chips and whisk. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and cook while whisking after every 5 minutes until the chocolate chips melt. Avoid bringing the mixture to a boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and leave it to rest for 5 minutes, then transfer it to the refrigerator and leave it there for 30 minutes until cooled completely.
  4. Arrange 8 Dixie cups on a large tray and add 1 tbsp of chocolate chips at the bottom of each cup. Then fill up to ¾ of each Dixie cup with the cooled hot chocolate mix.
  5. Add more chocolate chips on top and insert a wooden stick into each Dixie cup and transfer the tray to the freezer for at least 4 hours.
  6. Once ready to serve, remove the popsicles from the freezer, carefully remove them from Dixie cups and serve immediately.
