Classic, chewy Rice Krispies Treats made with browned butter, gooey marshmallows, and crispy cereal. The ultimate no-bake dessert for every occasion!

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 16 ounces (1 bag) mini marshmallows, divided

  • 7 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

    1. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

    2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty (about 2–3 minutes).

    3. Stir in 14 ounces of marshmallows, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until completely melted and smooth.

    4. Remove from heat. Gently fold in the cereal until evenly coated.

    5. Add the remaining 2 ounces of marshmallows and stir lightly for gooey pockets.

    6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Press down gently with buttered hands or a greased spatula (do not compact too tightly).

    7. Let cool for 30 minutes, then slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

    • For extra gooey treats, fold in 1 cup of mini marshmallows after mixing in the cereal.

    • Don’t press too firmly into the pan—this keeps them soft and chewy.
