A warm, hearty, and customizable bowl of oatmeal made with simple ingredients and topped with your favorite flavors.

Ingredients

Basic Oatmeal

  • 1 cup water or milk

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • Pinch of salt

Apple Cinnamon Variation

  • 1/2 apple, diced

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp brown sugar or maple syrup

Maple Brown Sugar Variation

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Banana Nut Variation

  • 1/2 banana, mashed

  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts

  • Dash of cinnamon

Berry Almond Variation

  • 1/4 cup mixed berries

  • 1 tbsp sliced almonds

  • Drizzle of honey

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup of water or milk to a boil in a small saucepan.

  2. Stir in oats and salt. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove from heat and let sit for 1–2 minutes.

  4. Stir in your chosen variation ingredients or top with your favorite toppings.

  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For creamier oats, use milk or a milk alternative.

  • Double the recipe for meal prepping; store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  • Add protein with Greek yogurt, protein powder, or nut butter.

  • Steel-cut oats require more time and liquid. Use a 4:1 liquid to oat ratio and cook 20–30 minutes.
